"Thomas Struth was one of my first loves in photography," Gaut says. "And this, coincidentally, is a block in New York City I later lived on."

This is Gaut's trusted Deardorff 8 x 10 camera on location in Kauai. Gaut, who often shoots architecture, likes to shoot the ocean in his free time. "The fact that it is always kind of changing is what interests me more than anything else," he says. "It's the most dynamic thing that I shoot."
