Visual History:

Jonathan Pozniak

By traveling to Antarctica and the arctic, photographer Jonathan Pozniak brings awareness to the catastrophe of global warming, exploring wildlife and landscape through his lens, bringing images of the earth’s beauty and its tragic changes —rising sea levels, wildfires, hurricanes, largely due to the melt of the polar ice caps — to us in our homes. Through his work, he captures these briefly lingering moments of the earth’s landscape, immortalizing in photograph what may no longer exist by the time we see it through Pozniak’s eyes.
